Sausalito Scarf Prize Yarn

I don't think I ever posted these gorgeous colors I won for the Sausalito Scarf KAL prize.... I selected Mini Mochi in Spice Market and Ice Wine. Tracie loved the Ice Wine and the cool thing is she is knitting and wanted to make a cowl...rather than knit the shawlette I planned for her I gave her the yarn!!!

August 2011

This month was lots of baby fun. For Rosie's new grandbaby, Lucille Hall, I knit the Baby Beret by Nancy Lindbergh from the book Knit Baby Head and Toes. I used Knit Picks merino style yarn in Cornflower, Petal and Vanilla colors and size 6 needles. I made a pair of booties using size 3 needles in the same colors using Saartje's Bootees pattern from Ravelry.

For Louise's new grandbabies due in October, I made a Berry Hat by Michele Sabatier using cotton fleece yarn in Wisterious and Holly Green and size 8 needles...and I make a Watermelon Hat by Stephanie McPhee in Barn Red and Holly Green...and I made a pair of toddler socks using the Patry-Time Lace pattern from the Knit a Dozen Baby Socks book for Camille to match her upcoming sister's hat.

Sausalito Scarf KAL

I knit this scarf for Liz for her birthday. Gave it to her when she came to visit...
I used Sausalito Yarn that I had won from Crystal Palace Yarns! It was great to work with and I love the Fall Herb color. I used the Sausalito Scarf pattern by KyleAnn Wiliams available on the CPY website and size 7 needles. I did add beads to the ends for a little zip. The amazing thing is I lucked out and won the grand prize on the KAL so I got to select 4 more skeins of yarn! Now that is amazing...

Been busy knitting, not posting :)

In July I knit a pair of socks for myself using the Fluttered Footies pattern by Michelle Hunter. It called for Trekking XXL yarn and size 1 needles. I really enjoyed the pattern and loved the way the yarn color knit up. Bought that yarn years ago when we went to Hawaii (of course I had to stop by the only knit shop on the island at that time!) Thank you Liz for acting as the lovely foot model!
I also make a pair to Lepidoptera Mitts (pattern by Allison Van Zandt)for my mom for her birthday. I used size 2 needles and Dream In Color's Dusky Aurora. They fit her perfectly.

Coquille KAL Prize Yarn

Crystal Palace Yarn is such a generous yarn company. This time I won 3 skeins of my choice by participating in the Coquille KAL. It was such a fun scarf to knit - I am already planning a second one!

June 2011

Made these socks using the Magic Mystery Dog Pattern (North Dakota) by Rachel Wilson from the 50 Socks 50 States CD. I used Mt. Colors 4/8's wool in the Sagebrush colorway. Ran out of yarn so added some Galway Highland Heather yarn in a light green that blended well... at least that part will be stuck in a shoe! I started with size 4 needles, then went to 3's and then 2's. The majority was knit with 2's.
I also made a scarf for my Granddaughter, Haley. I used some pink eyelash that was from my stash and didn't even have the yardage on it.

Banana Cream Pie Socks

Knit these socks for my Mom for her birthday. I used the Banana Cream Pie pattern by KyleAnn Williams from the 50 Socks - 50 States CD. The yarn is Panda Silk DK from Crystal Palace Yarns. I was lucky enough to with this beautiful Frosted Iris yarn! I did a toe up sock for the first time, used 2 needles for the first time (size 3 and 4) and the sock had a totally new heel for me. Lots of fun. Love the finished result...now to wait till her birthday to see if they fit!

April Prime Time KAL

Knit a sweater in the reverse colors of last month. Not sure which will go to Ryan or Bobby but we are going to see them this weekend and I am anxious to see if they fit...they better!!! The pattern is Hamish from the Rowan Jr book and the yarn is Comfort DK. I used size 3 and 5 needles.

March Prime Time KAL

I made this vest from a pattern named Hamish in the Rowan Junior book. The yarn is Comfort DK from Berroco. I used size 3 and 5 needles. Originally I made it for my grandson, Bobby (5), and then I was going to make the reverse colors for my grandson, Ryan (almost 4), but the neck is kind of tight so it looks like this will probably be for the younger one. Turned out nice...now to finish the second one!

Another Prize - Really Lucky Lady!

I won this yarn from Crystal Palace Yarns for participating in the 50/50 Socks KAL. This is my favorite colorway and the yarn is absolutely wonderful....so soft! Mochi Plus. Can't wait to decide what to make with this yarn!

All About Me KAL

I made these socks using the Waterfalls (Missouri) pattern by Jeane Frisbee from the 50 Socks/50 States CD. Used Mountain Colors Weavers Wool Quarters in the Sweet Lavender shade. I used several sizes of needles (3, 2 and 1) but in the end they fit. Love the way they turned out....

The yardage was a little short so I made this little bag from a soap sock pattern for my grandson, Jordan, to hold his coins.

February 2011 Prime Time KAL

The scarf is for a friend at church that has really been through a lot. It is in a cotton yarn and I just love the colors together. Figured it would be great for California. I have no clue what the yarn is because it was given to me. The pattern was given to me by Sandi from Valley Needlers and I used size 10 needles.

January Prime Time KAL

I made this Mini Mochi Shawlette for a friend from the yarn I recently won in the Tapestry colorway - with size 5 needles. It was so much fun to knit and turned out very pretty when done. I think it will look great with her hair!

I also made the little yellow socks using the Mock Cable Baby Socks pattern by Janet Gallagher and Wildflower DK Fancy yarn.

More Prizes....

I won this for participating in the Carefree 12/12/12 KAL. The yarn is very soft!

December 2010

Wow - I finally finished these socks! I think they turned out great - I knew what they were going to look like tho' because someone else had used this pattern and yarn in Ravelry. Thank goodness for Ravelry - love it!!! Started these socks back in Feb to learn how to do entrelac for our retreat and then stopped.... so good to finally finish them. The yarn is Trekking (color 108) and the pattern is Annetrelac by Sandy Beadle. I used size 1 dpn. Lots of yardage in these socks with this tiny, tiny bit left when I was done - whew nervous time!

November 2010 Projects

This month I made socks using Shibui yarn (which I loved) and the Margarita Summer pattern by Denise Henderly from the 50 Socks 50 States CD. I used size 2 dpn and added some CPY yarn to the heels and toes. I also made another scarf for the church with CPY to give to a group at Christmas.
