Double the Fun

For May I knit the Curly Sausalito Scarf by Susan Druding of CPY. I used Sausalito yarn in the Sequoia colorway and size 7 and 9 needles. A cute brainless knit.

Wingspan

When I first started this Wingspan by May Lin of Tri'Coterie I didn't know who I was making it for but Mom just loved the colors and since I finished before Mother's Day... I thought - Perfect! So mom will be getting this one. I used CPY Mini Mochi in Apricot Brandy shade - had to break into the third skein so glad I bought 3! I used size 4 needles and cast off with a 6.

April 2012

Wow...I am really behind on posting on my blog. Almost wonder if it is worth it since Ravelry has the notebook but it is still fun and a great way to keep track of what I am knitting. This month I knit Kindra a pair of mitts using the Cabled Fingerless Gloves by Cathleen Campbell and CPY Sausalito yarn in the Sequoia colorway with size 1 needles. I had extra yarn left over and so I knit Rennie a Smart Phone Cover by Charlotte Nash - I added a grey wool with the Sausalito to make it a DK weight. Rennie said it fits perfectly! I still had yarn left so I designed a headband using the cable from Kindra's mitt....and I still had yarn left so I knit Bunny Nuggets by DangerCrafts!

March 2012

This month I knit the Curly Sausalito Scarf by CPY using Sausalito yarn in the Fall Herbs colorway. The pattern is so much fun and so easy...sometimes (quite often) I really like brainless knitting. You use two needles for this pattern - size 7 and 9. I love the way it showed off the yarn. In fact, I plan to make another one pretty soon!

February 2012

I knit Tracie a pair of Cafe Au Lait Mitts using CPT Panda Silk DK in Sangria and size 4 needles. They were a lot of fun and I think they really showed off the yarn! I also knit Alexander a pair of baby socks with CPY Maizy in the Cocoa Mint and size 2 needles and a washcloth with size 8 needles.

January 2012

The Carefree KAL has changed to Ravelry so it will be a little different. I am going for the 6 months KAL using CPY and a minimum of 200 yards. This month I knit a drop stitch scarf for Sonja using the Aria prize yarn and size 15 needles. It was quick and really showed off the yarn. I also knit a Shibui baby hat pattern from the Sock Yarn One Skein Wonders Book for Chalet's baby, Alexander, using CPY Maizy in the Cocoa Mint and size 1 needles. Not part of the KAL but so cute... I also knit him a pair of Baby Uggs by Candi Jensen using Berroco Suede and Plush yarns. I used size 2 and 3 needles on them.

Winter Buzz

In January 2012 I participated in the Knit Purl Hunter KAL. The Winter Buzz pattern was by Michelle Hunter and I really enjoyed making it. Every time I join in a KPH KAL I learn so much. The yarn I used was Simpliworsted by Hikoo (Skacel) with size 7 needles. I made them for Meagan and sent them to her as soon as I finished.

CPY Aria Grand Prize

Gosh I am lucky...I won 3 skeins of Aria in gorgeous red shades for entering the Mitered KAL through Crystal Palace Yarns!

December 2011

For the Carefree KAL in December I made the Van's Twisted Rib hat for Tracie. I used the Dream In Color yarn with cashmere from the SSYC DIC Club and size 7 needles. I also made a scarf for my church to donate to a woman's group with stash yarn and size 13 needles. As a real challenge I knit Robert a rifle scope cover with Red Heart camo type yarn and size 7 needles. I didn't have a pattern for this so he gave me a rifle cover to copy and ta daa...it fit!
