I've been working on these since August. Damn, I'm slow - but they were worth the wait. I signed up to do a Carefree Mystery Sock KAL - my first mystery sock - it was so much fun! I did peek at the spoilers - loved looking at all the great yarns and options. I used Smooshy sock yarn by Dream in Color in the Beach Fog colorway. The pattern, Moonchild, was designed by Adrienne Fong. I did the leg in size two dpn but when I got to the foot I switched to a size one and it worked out great. A super toe.... must remember this one. Very gradual and fits great.

I'M A VERY LUCKY GIRL!!!
Gosh, I have been so lucky lately I wanted to post my wonderful prizes!!!
First - I won a skein of Fleece Artist in the Rainforest colorway - which is absolutely beautiful - through the Sock a Month KAL!!! Then I entered a drawing for the Joy of Sox book from Adrienne Fong and the Carefree KAL and my name was selected. Adrienne is the designer for the sock I am currently knitting and she has a pattern in the new book. The book is amazing....

Flat Feet in Subtle Stripes
What fun this yarn was to work with and I think the pattern I picked was perfect for the yarn. Not always my strong point! I used Flat Feet yarn by Conjoined Creations and size 2 dp needles. The pattern I used is Anne Subtle Stripe Socks by Chris Carroll. The toe ended up a little different than the pattern but they seem to fit me great - so guess who is keeping them :)

Gail's Wrist Warmers
The pattern is Sourwood Mountain from Knitty.com - Spring 2009. I made this for my friend, Gail, in her favorite color as a thank you for driving to Las Vegas. The trip was great! I have left over yarn for a scarf and she is wanting to learn to knit..... smile! These fingerless mittens were made with size 4 dp needles and Berroco Comfort DK. The pattern was great fun - now I just hope they fit. On to Kathy's socks....

Iggy Pop Monkeys
I made these Cookie A. Monkey Socks for the July 2009 Sock A Month KAL for me and I love them!!! I used Woolen Rabbit handdyed yarn (which was wonderful) in the Iggy Pop colorwave and size 2 dpn. I added mohair to the heels and toes. It was a terrific pattern - easy to follow and great fitting when done. Here is the free pattern if you've been living under a rock in the knitting world: http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter06/PATTmonkey.html

Jordan's Sweater
I made this sweater for my Grandson, Jordan. Since I am a slow knitter, and I was pretty sure it would take me forever, I made it a little on the large size... better that he be able to grow into it! I used 2nd Time Cotton from Knit One Crochet Too in the Glacier shade. The pattern, Jake, was from the Rowan Junior book by Kim Hargreaves.

Sock a Month KAL - May
I made these socks for my daughter, Tracie, using Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock yarn in a blue, tan and pink shade from my stash. I used the Cabled Sweat Socks pattern by Claire Ottman in the Socks magazine by Spin-Off and size one dpn. Great pattern and wonderful yarn - I added mohair to the heel and toe.
April Socks
Made these socks for a friend's grandbaby using a standard baby sock pattern from the book Knit a Dozen Baby Socks, Sockotta yarn and size 2 dp needles. Then I added the hat to match - great pattern (Jewel) by SockPixie. Loved the way the colors turned out with the little mitered squares at the bottom and then picking up stitches and knitting in the round. A very fast knit... and since I am slow as molassas it was fun!

Lace Ribbon Scarf KAL
Hello - Gosh I have been B-A-D at posting my finished knitted goodies. I am going to try to catch up in the next few days. This scarf was so much fun to knit. A KAL was started on Ravelry by SSYC's Allison. The pattern was free on Knitty.com and so easy to follow - when I can tell where I'm at I consider it easy. I used Lorna's Laces Buck's Bar in a sport weight yarn. I made this for a special friend for Christmas - she lives in cold weather. I lost my camera (temporarily misplaced) in our move so I wasn't able to take a picture before I mailed it to her so she sent me this picture. I wish I would have had a camera when it was blocking on the floor but this will give you an idea of the final result.

Ryan's Christmas Stocking
MARCH SOCKS
My First Socks
This was the first pair of socks I made- decided to take a picture and add them to my blog. I used Teal Cotton Fleece and the Iowa sock pattern - probably size ??? 3 needles. The first time I turned a heel it was ALL WRONG and I'll never forget the look on my friend's face! Patty was helping me to become a sock addict - and when she looked at the heel - it was like the expression that spoke a thousand words (and not all good, I might add) .... it was priceless!
