Ta-Dah!!!

Well, I finished the socks for my secret pal! I hope she will like them. I think a lighter color would have shown off the pattern a little better but they really are very nice - and the design is subtle but noticeable. I'm glad I added the blue Kid Merino to the heels and toes because I think it helped zip them up a bit and it makes them stronger. Blue, brown and red are her favorite colors (alone or together) so I hope she will be happy. I loved making them!

I'm Getting There!

I'm working on my Sockapalooza 4 socks for my secret pal and hopefully she will like them. I'm using Anne yarn by Schaefer and size 1 needles. The pattern is very subtle but I think that is good because she doesn't like frilly. Going to try to attach a photo. I just finished turning the heels on both socks and I added Crystal Palace Kid Merino as a carrying thread to reinforce the heels and plan to use it in the toes. As I get further along I'll take another photo. The pattern is April Fools by Wildhorse Farm Designs. What a fun pattern it is and easy to follow with the chart! Highly recommend the yarn and the pattern!

Horcrux

This sock was knit for the Six Sox Knitalong.
I used Meilenweit #704 and size 1 DPN. The pattern was great fun! I wanted to try the Meilenweit - and it was nice to work with and I loved the color. I don't think it showed off the pattern as well as some of the yarns used by other knitters in the group. Oh well, live and learn - I would definitely knit the pattern again!

Ryan's Blanket

This pattern is the Pinwheel Afghan for baby by Oat Couture. It was such a great pattern! I had a tiny problem at the beginning but soon got the hang of it and with stitch markers it was a dream. If you made a mistake it was easy to rip back and figure out where you needed to be. Short rows have always scared me but not anymore! I used Baby Care Yarn by Sirdar and it looked even better after washing.

Just Learning

Hello there,

I'm just learning how to set up a blog. In fact, this is a test... only a test. Be patient with me! My hope is to have lots of knitting pictures. I love looking at other knitter's sites. You are all an inspiration!
